Celestina Pearl
Board Member

Celestina(she/her/meow) is a queer femme dyke, mixed race Native Chicana, mama to a fierce trans teen, bruja, visual and performance artist, filmmaker, radical nurse, doula, gynecological teaching associate, former sex worker, kitty lover and outreach director at St. James Infirmary. Celestina has been a long time camper with her fierce trans kiddo. She loves that Camp It Up! is a place where they are both accepted and celebrated in their identities. The joy of camp has deepened for them as more Black and Brown families have joined the camp community. She’s proud and grateful to bring her experience to the Camp It Up! Board.

Lisa Gonzales
Board Secretary

Lisa (she/her) lives in Wilsonville, Oregon with her husband, 3 kids, one of whom is trans. When not seeing clients in her practice as a lactation nurse, Lisa can be found driving kids to taekwondo, knitting, or reading (probably non-fiction). After attending Camp It Up! with her kid in the summer of 2022, Lisa knew she wanted to go beyond "camper" and take on a larger role as a board member. She wants to help more kids attend the camp where she and her child were welcomed with love and complete acceptance.

They currently serve as Chief Development Officer for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and oversee resource development, brand management, and community engagement. Krys loves building, sports, hiking, birding, camping, and nerding out about tools and gear. Their family has been camping with Camp It Up! since 2022 and they are passionate about supporting the community.

Joey has been a community organizer since the 90's, and spent almost two decades running programs in San Francisco for National Queers Arts Fest, El Rio, the Lexington Club, and changed the route of the SF Dyke March in 2015. She served on the Board of Directors for SF pride 2015-2017 and is currently involved in the Integrated Schools movement. She was a summer camp counselor from 1991-1997, and from 2002-2015 volunteered summers working in the kitchen of a queer music festival.
