A message to the entire Camp It Up Community from our founder Jill Rose:
December 30, 2016
Dear Camp It Up! Campers and Staff,
Okay, it’s time. After twenty-seven years, it’s my time to step down from being our beloved camp’s director. As you most probably know, I sold camp to the non-profit Camp It Up! Inc last January and have been working for the Board this year as director. Mary Beth King, the new director, officially takes the reins on January 1, 2017. Even after all the good-byes, at camp this past summer and at the November 16th event, it’s still a bit surreal. I’ll be officially consulting for the Board and Mary Beth for the next two years and will of course be attending summer camp as a camper. I’ll look forward to having time for real conversations with campers, taking part in activities, volunteering to hold and play with every baby and toddler I see, play Scrabble and swim every afternoon. Mostly, I want to be able to just enjoy taking it all in. It’s been a remarkable ride. Thank you for every bit of it. Each camper, each staff person has been a blessing. I’ve been touched by each of you and am a better human for having known and worked with you.
I hope that you will give your full support to the Board and to Mary Beth. The Board is an incredibly dedicated, hard-working crew and Mary Beth is talented and spirited and has a myriad of camp experience that she’ll be bringing to her role as director. Transition years can be challenging – let’s all participate in camp in whatever ways we can. Come to winter camp, to summer camp, make a donation, offer feedback. We have such an exciting future ahead.
Much love and blessings to each of you.
